“The mission of the Movin’ Shoes Running Club is to foster an inclusive running group that supports the local running community through volunteerism, team race participation, training, and social events. We welcome runners of all abilities and styles to be part of the team.”

To actively promote the Movin’ Shoes community on social media (i.e. Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and Strava) if/when possible.
To wear a Movin’ Shoes t-shirt/singlet during races and volunteering events!
To assist the local running community in their personal fitness goals

Club Etiquette
Golden rule – always treat others how you would want to be treated
Be safe – be alert when crossing streets, wear the appropriate gear, run on the left, remain visible
Proudly wear your Movin’ Shoes tshirt or race singlet!

How to Become an "Active Member"
We hope you will consider becoming an active member of the club. In order to be considered an “active member” of the new Running Club, you must meet the following expectations:
Fill out the Movin’ Shoes-Madison Running Club Membership Form
Submit the $25 annual membership fee with a completed membership form (see link above) in person at Movin’ Shoes. Membership renewal is good for twelve months from the date of submission.
Represent Movin’ Shoes in a positive manner through volunteerism, sportsmanship, friendliness, encouragement, and teamwork.
If/when possible: actively promote the Movin’ Shoes community on social media (i.e. Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and Strava).
Wear a Movin’ Shoes t-shirt/singlet during races and volunteering events!

Weekly Group Runs
Active members are encouraged to attend our FREE weekly running groups:

Sundays
Social Run
Sunday runs are our biggest run of the week – offering a short, medium, and long route and many pace group options! We typically meet at Movin’ Shoes at 8am, but please check our Google Doc which is always kept current. We meet in the Movin' Shoes store at 8:00 AM for announcements and dividing up into pace groups. We also have coffee for a post-run treat!

Mondays
Recovery Run
Come join us for a community run every Monday for 3-5 miles. Paces range from 9-12 min/mile, with some walk/runners. Meet at 5:45 PM, inside Movin’ Shoes upstairs on the 2nd floor, before we get started for a run in the neighborhood.

Tuesdays
Fast Steady Run
Come join us for the speediest run of the week. Like all of our runs, any pace or distance is welcome, however paces for this run generally range from 6-8 min/mile. This group is a little different structure than the rest of the week, with an informal check-in on paces before the run, but not assigned leaders/groups/buddy runners. Meet at 5:45 PM, inside Movin’ Shoes upstairs on the 2nd floor for the run. The Tuesday crew often meets at The Mason bar after runs.

Wednesdays
Speed Workout
We are currently holding these workouts at McKee Farms Park in Fitchburg, meeting between 6:00-6:15 PM. Coach TK will be there to guide you along the way. All paces welcome: TK will get to know your fitness before giving you your workout splits, rests, etc. See you there for some speed work!

Thursdays
Womxn's Run
Come join us for a women’s run every Thursday for 3-5 miles. Paces range from 9-12 min/mile, with some walk/runners. Meet at 5:45 PM, inside Movin’ Shoes upstairs on the 2nd floor, before we get started for a run in the neighborhood. All Women (cis and trans) are welcome, including non-binary and gender nonconforming individuals who want to be in a women’s space!

Saturdays
Trail Run
We have recently joined with Dane County Trail Runners to offer these trail runs to the larger running community. The trail runs rotate between a few club-favorites, Picnic Point and Pheasant Branch. In addition to these two favorite routes, we add in other trails, like Ice Age Trail Segments, and visits to local State Parks! These runs usually meet up at 8:30 AM at the park where the run will be taking place.
